Why San Antonio, and not Kerrville
From the Foundation, in its own words on the live event page:
We are very sorry to inform all of our loyal pilots that Mooney Max has canceled their event for 2026. This last minute cancelation has affected us as we tried to secure a venue in the Kerrville area and were unsuccessful. We were able to locate what we feel will be a good venue in San Antonio to keep the event in the local area.
Kerrville is the Mooney factory town and the natural home for an October program, so the move is worth explaining rather than quietly making. San Antonio International is a short hop away, the FBO has rental cars on the field, and the hotel runs an airport shuttle.
Getting there
The program operates from the FBO at San Antonio International Airport (KSAT). Hotel details, the group rate and the reservation cutoff are sent to enrolled students; a room block is held under the Foundation’s name.
Cancellation and refunds
The Foundation applies a tiered refund window depending on how long before the programme a cancellation arrives. Those thresholds are visible in the Foundation’s own cancellation correspondence but have never been written down as a policy, so this demonstration does not state figures it cannot source. Staff see the cancellation date and the window on the registration record and decide; a written policy is an open question for the Foundation.
